The Ruta de la Sal Race is a popular race (you don’t need experience) for shipowners and amateurs, like popular races, which has taken place since 1989 on Holy Week and that has become a mandatory date to travel to Ibiza every year during Holy Week (Since Wednesday 8th or Thursday 9th April until Monday April 13th, 2018).
It is a recreational-festive-sport event to enjoy different single vacations of Holy Week by participating in a race with a great ambiance.
We still have spots available to participate as part of the crewmen in the Northern version of this 2019 Holy Week race.
Boarding is in Castelldefels (Barcelona) in Port Ginesta, on Wednesday 8th afternoon or Thursday 9th in the morning 2020-04-09 12:00pm.
Landing: Barcelona on Monday April 13 afternoon 2020-04-13 06:00pm.
Ruta de la Sal Race circuit: Barcelona, Port Ginesta to San Antonio of Portamany in Ibiza in a straight line from and to Barcelona from Sunday to Monday.

The race has three circuits, Northern Barcelona version, Majorca version and Dénia version. Barcelona version sails from Port Ginesta (Barcelona), Majorca version sails from Port de Andraxt and the East version sails from Dénia (Alicante). Both races end in Saint Antoni de Portmany in Ibiza. 200 ships (around 70 per circuit) and their crewmen meet annually for this popular race.
Mini-Sal is also a race, but its circuit is cut, only for charter ships and only being available to use Major and Génova sails.
The main advantage is that is a shorter circuit and you can enjoy better Ibiza island.
The beginning is on Thursday 9th and the award party will be on Holy Saturday evening. We will have all Sunday and Monday to come back from Ibiza to Barcelona.
Participate with singles and not singles in this multitudinous race, don’t miss it and don’t lose your spot. Come to enjoy on board of a sailboat of different Holy Week vacations and meet fun singles; and remember you don’t need experience, and the other crewmen will teach you everything you need to know.
You can sail from Wednesday to Thursday. The schedule for the singles that will sail from Barcelona is:
Wednesday 8th afternoon. At 8pm captains meeting. Welcome party at “Es Capitá” restaurant with catering and various tastings.
Thursday 9th. At 10am the race will sail to Saint Antoni de Portmany in Ibiza. The lagging crewmen have until 8:30am to embark.
Friday 10th afternoon/evening arrival of the race in the sailing club at San Antonio in Ibiza.
Saturday 11st. Day off. At 8:00pm we will have the award ceremony and after that, the dinner and a march until we can’t walk no more in the tent of organization.
Sunday April 12st. We will sail to Barcelona.
Monday April 13nd. Arrival in Barcelona. End of the trip and return home.
When can you embark?
From Wednesday afternoon until Thursday in the morning before sailing around 8:30am.
It is necessary to have a license from the federation, which can be obtained in every Autonomous Sail Federation. You need to at least have the “Special for only one race” license. You can do it at the Sail Federation of Catalan Community for a reduced price (20€ last year). We can take care of that too, if you like.
We remind you, like in all trips, singles and not singles in ships that meteorological conditions can change this scheduled plan.

Tuesday
11:00am-7:00pm. Registration and handing out the Captain’s Bag with t-shirts and gifts on the 1st floor of Santos Restaurant.
Wednesday
11:00am-7:00pm. Registration and handing out the Captain’s Bag with t-shirts and gifts on the 1st floor of Santos Restaurant.
8:00pm. Captains meeting.
9:00pm. Welcome party for the crewmen at “Es Capità” restaurant with catering and various tastings.
Thursday
9:55am. Attention signal for departure, which will be confirmed in the Captain’s meeting.
At Saint Antoni de Portmany, Ibiza.
Thursday
Opening of the welcome comity in Saint Antoni’s CN in Ibiza, which will remain opened 24h.
Friday
Rio Ibiza, meeting point of the navigators.
Free invitation to the “Arribada Cup” for all the crewmen in the Ibiza river terraces.
Saturday
12:00pm. Press conference with the race winner at San Antoni’s CN.
8:00pm. Official Award Ceremony and Great Raffle for all the participants.
Then, a buffet dinner and the welcome party for all the participants of the race (essential invitation to go to dinner).
The planned itineraries are guides and are usually feasible at the time of the year in which they are scheduled. Adverse weather conditions and / or safety reasons for the crew or the boat, and / or very uncomfortable wind conditions for navigation and waves may cause this route to be varied, without thereby generating the right to claim.
